COVID-19

A MESSAGE FOR OUR PATIENTS

WE ARE DOING OUR PART TO HELP SLOW THE SPREAD OF COVID-19
WHILE CONTINUING TO SERVE OUR CENTRAL OREGON COMMUNITIES.

EFFECTIVE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE,
WE HAVE MODIFIED OUR WORK ENVIRONMENT
TO PROTECT OUR TEAM AND OUR CLIENTS
BY CLOSING OUR OFFICE LOBBY TO VISITORS.

SCREENING

Our office will communicate with you before your scheduled appointment to ask a few screening questions. You will be asked those same questions again prior to entering the office. We will perform a temperature check and may ask additional questions about your health when you are in the office. If you are sick, please call to reschedule your appointment at a time when you are feeling well.

AT YOUR APPOINTMENT

Prior to entering the building, we ask that you call to receive verification that the waiting area is prepared for your safety. Please leave your loved ones in the car or at home whenever possible. Please wear a mask and follow proper hand hygiene. We are asking all patients to wash their hands or apply hand sanitizer upon entrance. We have hand sanitizer available throughout the office and outside the front door for your use.

We have removed refreshments, magazines, and children’s toys from the waiting area.

Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That may result in fewer available options for scheduling your appointment. We will do our best to allow sufficient time between patients and to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to minimize the number of patients in the reception area at any moment. Due to the new requirements for PPE and to decrease the chances of COVID exposure, we are asking our patients to schedule more procedures during their appointments whenever possible. For example, cleaning and fillings in the same appointment or multiple procedures (crowns, fillings, extractions, etc.) in one appointment.

PPE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

Based on new American Dental Association (ADA) regulations prompted by revised Center for Disease Control (CDC) COVID-19 guidelines for dentists. All aerosol-producing procedures require additional Personal Protective Devices (PPE). This PPE includes surgical gowns and surgical respirators for each patient. In addition, McCleery Dental has invested in surgical drapes between all the rooms and an additional Air Filtration System to provide clean, purified, and re-energized air. This filtration system captures air pollutants, filtering about 99.998% of the airborne particles. Thus, it helps reduce the spread of airborne pollutants. McCleery Dental has implemented more stringent systems to ensure the health of our patients and our staff during your visit. One of those systems you will notice involves the use of one-time-use plastic barriers to help maintain cleanliness in an efficient manner.

Unfortunately, sourcing these required supplies, including N-95 surgical masks, barrier devices, filtration devices, gowns, and gloves, has been challenging due to the volume needed globally. Because of this, PPE costs have risen.

Procedures such as fillings, crowns, cleanings, and other aerosol-producing procedures require the use of this upgraded Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Given the ever-changing PPE requirements and supply chain availability and costs, we may modify the charges to our patients as warranted.

Your safety and health is our primary concern as we actively work to keep patients and staff safe. Thank you for your support and understanding as we all move through this together.
